Customer Spotlight: Bobcat Home Furnishings

Just down the road from us is the fantastic team at Bobcat Home Furnishings and we’ve been glad to wrap every single one of their vehicles that offer free delivery of new purchases (and free haul-away of old furniture).

Bobcat Home Furnishings originally started life as Bobcat Mattress in 2008 as an Antonucci family business.  Alonzo Antonucci, now the sole owner, had dealt with chronic back pain since his early 20s and as a result had to buy a good mattress to help with that.  He spent more than he could really afford as an MSU student, and saw an opportunity to help others get better sleep (and avoid back pain).

They started the business the way so many have: out of the back of a vehicle.  Alonzo and his brothers made a connection in the mattress business and sold two beds out of the back of a Chevy truck.  Alonzo didn’t exactly have a lot of free time, though.  At the time he was taking 21 credits at MSU and finishing a research project in Mali (which, being in Africa, is not near Bozeman).

But even as he was busy with class, school, and dating the person who would become his wife, every free moment he was returning voicemails from potential customers and text messaging customers.  He sometimes even closed sales while in class!  Even the original Bobcat Mattress logo was created on a napkin while sitting in class.  After class he would make deliveries and bring the “showroom” to potential customers.

The amazing Bobcat Home Furnishing Team in front of their upgraded location.

Twelve years later, the company outgrew its mattress beginnings to become a home furnishings business, which meant almost 10Xing their current location, which meant moving a mile down the road.  But that opening happened in April 2020, which as we all know now, was in the middle of nationwide lockdowns and restrictions.  But not only did the team move to the new location and carry on, but many new members have come on since then.

They still carry mattresses, of course, but they also have bedding, furniture, flooring, and appliances.  But what they offer on the shelves and in their inventory is really only half of the equation.  Check out some of these reviews:

  • Bought a couch, a chair, two mattresses, and a buffet. The people who helped us were incredibly kind and patient. One staff member took our four year old to a play area and entertained her while we shopped. Delivery was incredibly fast and professional. Prices are very fair. Highly recommended.

  • Amazing customer service. I secured a "hard to find" freezer off hours with this company through text. They were prompt in their response and took the time to locate the exact freezer we were looking for. They delivered our item in 48 hours to another state. You don't find this service anywhere anymore! Fantastic.

  • This place was a lifesaver! I’m planning a move to Bozeman and decided to sell my existing furniture instead of moving it so was looking for new furniture and quickly (no easy task right now). Hunter made everything so easy to do virtually and they are even loaning some pieces until all my purchases arrive. By far the best furniture shopping experience I’ve had. They have a great variety of pieces and actually have some in stock which seems unheard of right now. Highly recommend (and I’m not one to leave reviews)!

You can’t buy reviews like this and this only shows how much the entire team (who you can learn about here) cares about the customer experience.

We love working with Bobcat and are looking forward to many more years of collaborating with them.  In addition to wrapping their fleet, we also make feather banners for their sales, window/door graphics for their retail location, and annual gear for Catapalooza.
