What is Our Connection to Clean Slate Group?

While we have our own distinct brand and type of work we do at The Wrap Agency, we actually started as part of another idea that still exists: the Clean Slate Group.

How It Started

Clean Slate was founded in 2011 by Ryan Rickert, and is focused on city beautification.  Instead of seeing graffiti on walls, utility and traffic cabinets, and other public places, why not offer a solution that not only dealt with the graffiti, but actually caught your attention?  The material used is similar to a vinyl wrap, but it uses proprietary Honeywell technology (named CSG Protect) to resist defacing by graffiti.  If you’ve seen a wrapped utility or traffic cabinet in Bozeman (or three dozen other communities nationwide), it’s probably been done by Clean Slate.

Now, as awesome as such an idea sounds, anyone who has worked with the government knows that good ideas, if they are even implemented in the first place, take a long time to wind their way through the system (we’re talking years, here).  So since Clean Slate started to get inquiries about doing other vinyl graphics while the government projects were making their way through the approval process, The Wrap Agency was born (but back then it was called CSG Media).  The demand was definitely there (we had clients before we even ever existed as an entity!) and we were off to the races.

What’s In a Name?

Five years later we changed the name from CSG Media to The Wrap Agency (or TWA, whichever you prefer!) and CSG sounded a lot like the three letters of one of our competitors in town, so to stop confusing potential customers we picked a name that couldn't possibly be confused with them.  It also helped that we were already using “The Wrap Agency” as one of our taglines and that Ryan had bought that web domain some time before.  Sometimes out of the blue we’re asked if we help produce rap songs (seriously!) and while some of us can carry a tune or even drop some rhymes, we won’t be able to help you if you need that! :-)

Still Related

So here’s the thing, the same team that runs TWA also executes projects for Clean Slate Group.  Jessie manages the projects, Elysia designs the cabinets, Jake handles production, and our certified 3M installers get those projects installed.  The CSG Protect material which Clean Slate uses for all its projects also works as a whiteboard laminate product sold by TWA.  We’ve differentiated the offerings of the two businesses, but leverage the same expertise and passion to pull everything together.

How It’s Going

Obviously there are great synergies and opportunities for cross-marketing with these two businesses.  Clean Slate Group continues to pursue opportunities with city beautification, with an additional angle now of offering a product that is bio-inert, which can help reduce people’s concerns about a surface that is covered with it needing to be constantly sanitized.  A bio-inert surface doesn’t allow for biological particles to stop and throw an impromptu dance party.

The Wrap Agency continues to provide great service to the Gallatin County area and in our more than decade-long existence (under different names) we’ve had the wonderful opportunity to get to know our fellow neighbors and businesses through various projects we’ve had the privilege of pulling together for them.

If you’d like to join that happy family, let us know how we can help
